In this package, cycling isn't about achievement, but about a way of getting to know Zeeland, yourself and your daily choices better. Whether you cycle a lot or have little experience: you'll learn by doing, experiencing and reflecting on mobility, movement and sustainability.

What will you do?

During this package, you'll gain various experiences around cycling, movement and sustainability. You'll start with a joint kick-off meeting in which you'll get to know other students and reflect on your own relationship with mobility and movement. This will be followed by activities such as a cycling workshop, a group bike ride around Middelburg or Vlissingen and a repair café where you'll learn basic bike maintenance skills. You'll work with a buddy: a fellow student with whom you cycle and share experiences. You'll also carry out independent assignments, such as exploring new cycling routes.

What will you learn?

You'll learn to approach mobility more consciously and discover how cycling and movement can contribute to your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. You'll also gain greater insight into your own routines, motivation and self-confidence. You'll also experience how movement can help you connect with others and with the Zeeland surroundings.

Bike Tour Dates

As part of this package, we will also organize several bike tours. These will take place on the following Fridays:

  • October 16, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (bike tour)
  • November 13, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (bike tour)
  • December 4, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM (mountain biking)

Eva Boerjan

Vitality & wellbeing
Vitality & wellbeing

3.1 Appreciation and connection
The student connects with others and/or their context in an appreciative manner.

5.3 Optimism
The student develops healthy habits and routines for their own physical, emotional and mental health, thereby demonstrating confidence in their own ability (self-efficacy) to successfully contribute to meaningful change.

Upon completion, the student is able to describe experiences in which connection with others and/or the Zeeland context becomes visible. The student is also able to reflect on the effect of cycling and physical activity on their own physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. In addition, the student is able to demonstrate insight into their own routines, motivation and self-confidence in relation to mobility and physical activity.
