Are you curious about the science behind cooking? In this activity, you will discover how creativity and science come together in the kitchen. You will learn to cook in a completely new way while collaborating with other students to create surprising and innovative dishes.
What will you do?
After a joint kick-off session, you will work in small groups to explore molecular gastronomy. Together, you will plan around four cooking sessions, for example at each other's homes. During these sessions, you will experiment with techniques such as foaming, gelling, and spherification. Each student will develop several dishes, preferably using local and sustainable ingredients wherever possible. Halfway through the activity, you will share your experiences and provide feedback to one another. The activity concludes with a shared dinner, where everyone presents their favourite dish.
What will you learn?
You will develop your creativity, teamwork, and planning skills. You will learn to experiment, explore new ideas, and work collaboratively towards a shared outcome. At the same time, you will practise communicating effectively, giving constructive feedback, and working respectfully with people from different perspectives and backgrounds.
